History of Roger E. Cardin, Jr. Post 114
The American Legion Post 114 Barrington, NH was established in 1990 under the command of David J. Cote. The post began with 15 charter members and presently has over 100 members. The post was rechartered and officially proclaimed to be the Roger E. Cardin, Jr. American Legion Post 114, Barrington, NH in 1995. This renaming was to honor Roger E. Cardin, Jr. for his many contributions to the post. Roger passed away in 1995 while serving as Post Commander.
Over the years, Post 114 has found its home in numerous locations from members homes, business conference rooms, as well as the Purdy Funeral Home Chapel on Rt-4. On May 31, 2016, Post 114 opened our new home which is located in the lower level of the Chapel of the Nativity church located at 731 NH-9, Barrington, NH 03825.
Our official charter was not signed until March 2, 1995, but the membership has been active from the first meeting until present day.
